What Is Innerdance? The History of the Practice

About the Founder of the Practice

Pi Villarazza was born in Manila, Philippines. At the age of 25, penniless and without telling any of his family or friends, he woke up one day and simply walked away from all familiar comforts, in a state of absolute trust.

Over the course of a year, Pi undertook a walking pilgrimage across the island of Mindanao, and after spending nearly a year there, he moved to the island of Palawan and settled on a beach called Kalipay, where he spent another two years leading a very ascetic lifestyle.

Here, meditating every day and subsisting solely on coconuts, Pi attained a special state of consciousness in which a powerful stream of energy opened up to him. This is what we now call the Innerdance practice.

Innerdance translates as “inner dance.”
But it is not dance in the literal sense. The practice of Innerdance got its name because of the spontaneous movements which sometimes resemble dance that occur as this inner energy moves through the body. This energy is so powerful that it can literally catapult people into a world of deeper awareness, wholeness, and balance.

Innerdance is a transformative process of self-awakening that naturally guides everyone who surrenders to it toward a truly meaningful existence through intuitive healing and liberation.

As Innerdance peels away conditioned mental limitations layer by layer, it gradually reveals deep-seated core principles and activates an understanding of the meaning of one’s birth -
our fundamental reason for being on this planet.

Innerdance is an intuitive reconnection with one’s true self through a deeper awareness of the body, mind, and emotions as energy. This transformative shift in consciousness also leads to changes in the physical body. As it awakens within, this energy may manifest to a greater or lesser extent on the outside. In this case, the body may begin to move under the influence of this inner energy.

Along with this transformation comes the recollection of our wholeness, Oneness which naturally leads us to a life in harmony with nature, an eco-friendly and powerful coexistence with other beings and the planet itself.
Innerdance is an energy practice, and all the work here takes place primarily on an energetic level.
